Quick and Easy to apply. 0 people found this helpfulI have been using Chlosite for I think approximately 7 years. It is a very easy product to use and I particularly like the fact that you can you it in multiple sites, treating several pockets rather than just one. It is quick and easy to apply. You just have to make sure that the pocket, after the treatment, is not bleeding too heavily, so it can be dried with paper points before applying the Chlosite, if this is proving a problem. I have never had a patient complain of any adverse affects. I have achieved good results with using Chlosite and would score it 4 out of 5 Sandra Thompson-Wright

Each patient has gained at least 1-2mm reattachment 0 people found this helpfulI have been really impressed with the results Chlosite gel is achieving in my patients with advanced Periodontitis and Perio Implantitis. I have used the gel when patients have been unresponsive to traditional root surface debridement. Each patient has gained at least 1-2mm reattachment and most patients have no bleeding on probing at 3/12 stage. The gel is easy to place without LA, is applied in a single application and none of my Patients have reported any discomfort or side effects. Useful for first stage treatment 0 people found this helpfulChlosite; easy to use, very effective. The most reliable local antimicrobial for periodontitis and peri-implantitis I have ever used. If you combine it with sealing the gum line with cyanoacrylate then the results can be quite spectacular. Very useful for first stage treatment or maintenance relapses. I like the easy of use 0 people found this helpfulPersonally I like Chlosite gel for its ease of use following full mouth disinfection where in areas of significant pocketing. It works out reasonably cost wise and seems to be very effective in preventing re infection provided the appropriate follow up treatments are carried out. Very happy with the product. Well retained in Pockets 0 people found this helpfulI have found Chlosite a useful adjunct in the treatment of persistent non-healing pockets in both surgical and non-surgical cases. In my opinion it has helped reduce inflammation and aid healing in those refractory sites. Chlosite Gel
To resolve the problems of efficacy, antibiotic resistance by bacteria and the risk of allergies, Chlosite was born, a coadjuvant for the treatment of periodontal pockets and peri-implantitis
Chlosite:
- Is composed of a new and innovative type of xanthan gel, researched and developed by Ghimas and combined with chlorhexidine.
- Is the only gel capable of discouraging, for at least two weeks, the recolonisation of bacteria at the application site.
- Is easily applied into the deepest portion of the periodontal pocket by means of a thin needle with a rounded tip that will not traumatise the tissues.
- Thanks to the mucoadhesive properties of xanthan, it stabilises in the application site and adheres to the mucosal tissues of the defect.
- Acts as a sterile occluding medication at the application site that impedes the recolonisation of bacteria responsible for periodontal diseases and peri-implantitis.
- Degrades spontaneously in the application site in 15-30 days and is well tolerated.
Chlosite can be stored at room temperature, it is ready for use, and it is injected directly from the syringe into the pocket thanks to the thin rounded tip needle. After mechanical removal of the plaque, Chlosite is applied directly into the site, starting from the deepest portion of the pocket, and progressing up until the gingival margin. Chlosite guarantees an occluding barrier at the application site for at least 15 days. Unlike topical antibiotics, Chlosite does not induce bacterial resistance.
How to Use
Use as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) in the treatment of moderate to severe periodontitis (pockets>5mm). It can also be used in the management of peri-implantitis.
After scaling and root planing, and drying the pocket with a sterile paper point, simply syringe the gel into the pocket. Repeat at 3 months, as necessary.
