Royal Mail Strikes to Cause Delays to Swallow Deliveries

Royal Mail workers are set to resume strike action on Thursday, 13 October, with significant delays expected to many of the courier company’s services.

As part of the strike action over pay, members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) are expected to walk out throughout October and November.

Royal Mail workers plan to strike on four non-consecutive days throughout October and Novemeber.

The dates of the planned Royal Mail strikes are below:

Thursday 13 October
Thursday 20 October
Tuesday 25 October

Which Royal Mail Services Will be Affected?

During the Royal Mail strikes, the company has confirmed that it will not be delivering any letters or parcels, except for those sent by Special Delivery and Tracked24 services.

Special Delivery and Tracked24 items will be prioritised, although Royal Mail has stated: “We cannot guarantee delivery of all items by 9am or 1pm next day.

“We will, therefore, suspend the next day guarantee for items sent the day before, during strike action and until our services are back to normal.

“Customers will not be able to claim compensation for items which are delayed during this period.”

How Will Royal Mail Strikes Affect my Order/s?

Whilst we intend to operate as usual, it is inevitable that any orders couriered by Royal Mail will experience delays.

Therefore, we recommend that any orders placed using Royal Mail services be made well in advance of any upcoming check-ups, treatments or surgeries.
