A Brief History of Swallow Dental
Founded in October 1998 by Dr Paul Harrison, Swallow Dental Supplies Ltd started life in a room above a garage selling just three bone grafting products. The Fortoss range of bone augmentation products proved to be the springboard to our success.
In 2002, following four years of rapid growth, we moved to a new premises in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. By this time, the number of staff had increased to three.
We moved again in 2004 to an office above a bank, having almost doubled our number of staff. During this time, we started supplying PDT instruments, still one of our most popular and best-selling brands.
Four years later, having outgrown our Ilkley office, we were on the move once again, this time to a purpose-built office and warehouse facility in Silden.
By late-2011, we had completed our merger with Excel Surgical. This allowed us to expand our customer base and offer a new and exciting range of products, including Q-Optics Loupes and the Tatum range.
Over a decade of positive progress meant that we soon needed to expand our offices again; this resulted in us moving down the road to our current headquarters on Marrtree Business Park.
Twenty-five years on from our humble beginnings, Swallow Dental now employs 25 staff, offers over 5,000 high-quality dental products and has many thousands of satisfied customers.
Here’s to another 25 years of serving the dental industry.
