PenguinRFA Osseointegration Monitor

The PenguinRFA Osseointegration Monitor measures implant stability and osseointegration, allowing you to make informed decisions about when to load. Make precise and objective measurements in seconds, resulting in significantly shorter treatment times.

Measurements in Seconds

Designed to work in tandem with PenguinRFA MulTipegs, the PenguinRFA accurately measures the frequency resonance on the implant and displays an ISQ-value (Implant Stability Quotient) from 1 to 99. The ISQ value correlates strongly to the micro-mobility of the implant and is delivered in a matter of seconds.

The trend in modern dentistry is to only allow minimal healing time before loading. This places great pressure on clinical teams as implants with poor primary stability are more likely to fail.

The PenguinRFA Osseointegration Monitor delivers reliable support by providing accurate and objective measurements of implant stability. This simplifies decisions of when to load.

To record a reading, mount the MulTipegTM and aim for the top of the unit. The ISQ value will be displayed on the device’s easy-to-read screen.

Values above 70 relate to high stability and are typically used for one-stage and immediate loading.

By taking a baseline value at implant placement and another before loading, the degree of osseointegration can be measured.

The RFA Technique

Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) was first introduced more than 20 years ago. A peg attached to an implant is excited and the vibration frequency is picked up by the instrument and displayed as an ISQ (Implant Stability Quotient) value between 1 and 99.

The Penguin RFA measures this resonance frequency which accurately reflects the stability of the implant.

The ISQ value correlates strongly to the micro-mobility of the implant, which in turn depends on bone quality and osseointegration.
