The PDT Pineyro Full Arch Kit contains four instruments to properly address all the difficulties in hygiene access for full fixed implant restorations.

Created by world-renowned prosthodontist Dr Alfonso Pineyro, the kit allows for the treatment of full-fixed hybrid patients without needing to remove the prosthesis.

The instruments, made from solid, medical-grade titanium with a lightweight resin handle, won’t scratch or leave debris and can be used for most other implant restorations including locator abutments, healing abutments and exposed threads.

R630 Pineyro Arch Ti 1

Anterior Arch - to debride the anterior placed implants for a Full-Fixed Hybrid, especially lingual area of lower anterior teeth, where calculus builds up most frequently.

R631 Pineyro Arch Ti 2

Posterior Arch - to debride posterior placed implants for a full-fixed hybrid, the design of the shank allows for proper access.

R632 Pineyro Arch Ti 3

Mesial/Distal Arch - to debride the posterior hard to reach mesial/distal areas on the implants for a Full-Fixed Hybrid.

Meet Dr. Alfonso Pineyro, DDS

As one of the world’s leading prosthodontists, Dr Alfonso Pineyro is well placed when it comes to recommending how to treat dental implants. That’s why, in partnership with PDT, Dr Pineyro has created the Pineyro Full Arch Kit, the first set of hand instruments specifically designed for dental implants and not teeth.

“I developed a set of instruments that were made for implants and different facets of implants. Every implant instrument that exists is a copy of an instrument that was designed for teeth.

“This is the only implant set that exists that was actually developed for implants and not for teeth. The thing that makes [the PDT Pineyro Full Arch Kit] implant specific is that the instruments are made out of titanium.

“The reason I developed these was because hygienists and dentists always struggle with what instrument to use and there was no ‘silver bullet’. I think we came up with the ‘silver bullet’ for implants.

“[The PDT Pineyro Full Arch Kit] has been designed to clean under full arch restorations. The great thing is that it’s different to any hygiene instrument you see. These instruments are not sharpened; they don’t pinch the gums.

“The goal is to get underneath the prosthesis, to clean between the gum and the prosthesis. If you do that with any other hygiene instrument, the patient is going to say ‘ouch’.”

About Dr Pineyro

Having attended the University of New York at Albany, Dr Pineyro received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and dental training from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico in 1999.

A further two-year advanced education in general dentistry followed before he completed his specialist training in prosthodontics at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center. He later completed a three-year program in Prosthodontics and received his Graduate Prosthodontic Certificate in 2006.

In his distinguished career, Dr Piñeyro has been an affiliate instructor at the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington, as well as a past president of the esteemed Washington State Society of Prosthodontists. He is also a member of the American College of Prosthodontists and the American Prosthodontics Society.

The author of several peer-reviewed dental publications, Dr Piñeyro, who is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian, has lectured both nationally and internationally and presented over 250 lectures for multiple dental study clubs and dental associations.

He has been invited to speak to large national dental symposiums which include the Seattle Study Club Symposium, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics.
